Tensile strength
Tensile splitting tests were performed on 100x100x100 mm cube specimens to determine the tensile strength development.
Testing was conducted using the Amsler compression machine and was in accordance with the SANS 6253 code (SANS 6253, 2006).
A total of three specimens were tested to failure for each of the five products and the average was used from those results. The tensile strength test was conducted after an age of 1, 3, 7 and 28 days.
* Video highlights the tensile splitting test on a cylinder specimen. The study perfomed the same test with a cube specimen.
