Restrained shrinkage (Ring test)​

 

The restrained shrinkage for the five products were tested using the Ring test. The Ring test is the most common test method used for testing restrained shrinkage in concrete repair mortars and is based on the method described in ASTM C 1581-04:1. A total of two specimens were cast per product. 

 

The rings were observed daily until they had failed due to tensile cracking, thereafter the crack age was recorded for each product. 

 

14 days after the intial failure the crack width was measured and the crack intensity was calculated. The results from the experimental procedure would be later compared to the
