Products

A total of five products were investigated for the duration of the study. The five products included three cementitious mortars, one fiber-reinforced mortar and one polymer-modified mortar. The product properties are highlighted below.

Cementitious mortar 1 (CM1)

CM1 is used for cosmetic or structural repair of deteriorated concrete. Applications inlcude exterior, interior  and vertical surfaces. The advantages of this product include:

  • One component, just add water.

  • Excellent adhesion.

  • Shrinkage compensated.

  • High resistance to freeze/thaw cycling.

Cementitious mortar 2 (CM2)

CM2 is a high perfromance fluid, expanding grout with multiple uses. The advantages of this product include:

  • Good flow characterisitcs.

  • Rapid strength development.

  • Non corrosive.

  • Shrinkage compensated.

Cementitious mortar 3 (CM3)

CM3 is a free-flowing structural repair mortar, which contains aggregate of 9mm in size. The advantages of this product include:

  • One component, just add water.

  • Shrinkage compensated.

  • Economical.

Fiber-reinforced mortar (FM)

FM is a high strength synthetic fiber mortar containing silica fume. It is suitable for application overhead or on vertical surfaces, using either a wet spray method or by hand. The advantages of this product include:

  • Excellent workability.

  • Good resisitance to water and chloride penetration.

  • Synthetic fiber-reinforced.

Polymer-modified mortar (PM)

PM is a high buid reprofiling mortar containing silica fume. It can be used for thick layer concrete repairs, especially for overhead or vertical applications. The advantages of this product include:

  • Excellent workability.

  • Suitable for overhead and vertical application.

  • Good freeze/thaw and chloride penetration resistance.
