Methodology
In order to characterize the engineering properties of the five different patch repair mortars, a number of experimental tests were conducted.
Experimental procedures included the folowing tests:
-
Compressive & tensile strength
-
Elastic modulus
-
Free drying shrinkage
-
Restrained shrinkage (Ring test)
Upon completion of the experimental procedures an analytical model was implemented to predict age at cracking and confirm Ring test results.
All specimens were cured in plastic for one day and had the maximum suggested water content added to each product - to account for the worst case scenario.
