Compressive strength​

 

For each of the five patch repair mortars, compressive strength tests were performed on 100 x100 x 100 mm mortar cubes. These tests were performed to monitor the strength development of each cube.

 

Testing was conducted using the Amsler compression machine and the test procedure was in accordance with SANS 5863:2006 Code (SANS 5863, 2006).

 

Each product had three specimens tested to failure and an average value was obtained from those results. The compressive strength test was conducted after an age of 1, 3, 7 and 28 days.
